I don't know about porn causing premature ejaculation. If anything porn leads to erectile dysfunction. If you give up porn and masturbation you can have a healthy sex life. With porn and masturbation that is not possible.

I agree with 2. But, remember, you're wise to question the timeframes of masturbation as compared to normal sexual activity. The latter is far more demanding. The more you masturbate, the less able you'll be to perform normally because you're training yourself to speed. That isn't likely to be very satisfactory in real life. And, those who masturbate regularly have a reduced drive for normal sex. So, not only will you not want to perform naturally, you will have trained yourself to be unable to do that too. I can tell you from experience with a person who does the porn/masturbation thing...that it "does" in fact, result in premature ejaculation, and inability to perform at all, but for masturbation.

As you noted, when you were masturbating, you were making a deliberate effort to finish quickly. When having sex with your wife (when the time comes) you won't be in such a rush to the finish. I doubt you've done any permanent damage as far as that goes.

dlansky is right. And I have known a few guys, and read in my research that, yes, mb does lead actually to all kinds of problems having normal sex. The premature ejaculation is a habitual thing, as dlansky said your goal was to finish quickly.. no romance, no foreplay,, little fantasy,, and younger guys sometimes tend to that anyway.
2early is also correct that later on the result is actually desensitization to a lot of stuff that makes for erectile dysfunction. After the millionth generic wet **** it actually does get boring.. This is one reason why then the level is raised and people get into harder and harder core stuff.

It rakes some control and balance to get to 'normal' but they are both right that it can be done,, and they are both good examples of guys who did it.

Why don't you try masturbating slowly, to see if you can prolong it. I think when boys first start having sex, brevity or premature ejaculation is rather common. Don't sweat it.

Thank you for being honest Will. My H suffered the same problem since he was fairly young. He was so accustomed to masturbation that he couldn't perform long enough to accomplish coitus. Now, he is in his fifties and has become almost completely impotent due to the porn and masturbation. Either the porn or masturbation has detrimental affects...together...they are a recipe for future inabilities. Or, so it has been with my H.

Anyone in long term recovery or a spouse with a husband in long term recovery have this issue and change over time?
