Hello my name is jon I am happily married and have been with my wife for 17 years we have two wonderful kids I would say about 4 to 5 years ago I started viewing porn 3 to 4 times a week sometimes less I don't know why I started to do this about a month and a half ago my wife found out about my addiction. Needless to say she was crushed about the situation. Well now it has been a month and a half and I have not viewe'd any porn nor been thinking about it I realize I hurt my wife and my family by doing this taking time away from my kids and my wife I know that it will take time to build the trust back in our relationship but she is so awesome and we are working through this together but she says to not talk about it with someone is bad and like sweeping it under the rug.so I am here to become a stronger person with this problem I have put the accountability app on my phone and have hopefully been doing all the right thing .also have started going to church to get more in touch with God .I feel it has been working I feel good after church so does any one else have this kind of problem. Iam working hard to makes things better for us..I guess what iam trying to say is,I don't really know why I started our sex life is awesome do I can't blame that.any support or advice would be great. .thanks everyone

As I understand it, and also for myself, I acted out sexually because it felt good - it had nothing to do with how good my sex life was. An alcoholic doesn't become an alcoholic because his drinking life isn't good enough.

My life included a boss I didn't like. Too much traffic to and from work. My wife doesn't appreciate it when I cook. The schools give kids too much homework....things like this cause stress. Stress that I don't even realize gets to me. When I act out, look at porn, have an orgasm from it - it's like an alcoholic having beer, scotch...whatever.

Should a man NEVER look at porn? Perhaps, but that is not my question to answer. What if a man looks at porn, and the pleasure associated with acting out gives relief. He doesn't realize it, but with repeated times of using porn, it becomes powerful. For me, it got to a point that once I started using it, I couldn't stop.

I am NOT a blameless victim of addiction. The shame of what I was doing led to hiding it, lying about it...things an addict does. And then the shame becomes just another reason to act out. That's how the cycle was for me.

Some steps that may be of help to you: 1. Join a 12 step support group such as SAA, SLAA, SA, or some other similar group. The support of others in a safe environment may be very helpful to you. 2. check out yourbrainonporn.com and read up on the 90 day reboot challenge, maybe give that a try. 3. Keep any access to porn blocked, and you may need a trusted accountability partner to help with this (perhaps other than your spouse). This person would set the password so that you wouldn't have the ability to circumvent the system. These steps can help, but also keep coming back here for advice.

I have installed the accountability app on my device and have not even been thinking about it now that I have stopped I just fo everything I can to stay busy with other things remodeling my house. Spending more time with my wife and children. Iam looking for some one or somewhere I can get helping figuring out what caused this problem so It will never happen again. Iam a strong person and know I can do this but just really need to figure out why it happened in the first place

Hallo, the more I read the more I know that what I am going through I can overcome. I am into internet pornography and I relapse once in a while. I have been an on and off addict for about 20 years. I thought I was ok because I knew that no one would ever know and I have maintained a good image. But as a Christian it is wrong and I know it. But when I start watching I cannot control myself. I want to see how I will recover being in this group and how I will come out of this. It is something I really want to stop and I have taken some measures to prevent me from falling back but I need a mind set that is different. I have been asking myself the same conviction I have in not taking drugs why isn't it the same with watching pornography. We take up measures but God is very important in us overcoming addictions
