I'll tell you another technique that has been working for me. I've been telling myself when the suggestion of looking at pornography pops into my head that "it's simply not an option!"
I"ll be adamant about it and it immediately goes away. The same with Masturbation, it's not an option for me today. It's not tangable, but I relate it to other tangable things that I have found solutions from.
Like my car doesn't work right now so driving is not an option! And then I go from there and make my next move, instead of saying, well maybe it will crank up just this one time! LOL. Does that make sense?
Best wishes and congrats
While one day of abstinence is a great deal, actually permanent abstinence from indulging from porn is the absolute better option and the best way you'll be able to do that will be to join as recovery program such as Recovery Nation where you'll get the tools you need to overcome this addiction. Otherwise chances are, you'll relapse eventually because you did not have the tools to deal with the addiction as you were recovering.
I am talking about a structure that has to built around healing from this addiction, new habits that need to be established, and most importance dealing with triggers and learning to deal with unwanted emotions which will be a lot of them during the first 3 months of the addiction that will pop up the longer you stay away from porn.
Let me put it to you this way, during your addiction, you have built your life around it, everything you did and thought was about that, your body will eventually go into hyper sexual mode because you have starved it from any sexually laden input and it will demand that you will satisfy it or else, it will not leave you be, it'll keep you up at night, it will send you thoughts you'd never thought you'd have, etc.
But with a recovery program, you'll be able to address your 90 day mandatory abstinence much better than without it. Believe me, I too had to face the prospect of joining a recovery program because sure I quit so many times but eventually something would happen to send me back indulging because I had not done the most important part, living my life as though porn never existed for me, and a recovery program taught me that.
Do yourself a favor join Recovery Nation and you'll have much better chances for success than without it.
