You're doing the right thing by being here. It shows to me you're serious about this and you want to get help.

Do you currently get any kind of professional therapy or counselling? It might be worthwhile on top of accessing internet support groups such as this. You don't even necessarily need to be specific with your wife - just that you're feeling down and depressed, which I suspect might be true anyway.

What I found worked for me before my last girlfriend I split up, was I deleted every bit of pornography I found and I took passwords off my devices. I didn't tell her what was going on or wrong, but I did that so I would have that part of me that knew she could theoretically pick up my phone or laptop at any time to use it and see what I had.

Thanks for the support. I honestly haven't been able to tie my porn addiction to depression or anxiety. I mean, it make me sad that I can't stop on my own because every other aspect in my life is semi controlled. But, I do think counseling could help keep me accountable and could be helpful to develop some coping skills.

I actually wish I could tell my wife. I wonder if she would be more supportive than I think, I don;t think she would leave me. We are very strong, But, is hurting her feelings worth it? I kinda think this is my battle to fight.

You need to find out how it became a compulsion and how you can protect yourself in your most vulnerable moments. I do agree that you need to get rid of image and access to porn. But what do you do when you are not in control of the things around you like when you are with friends. Consider getting this book that I have recommended here over and over. It is called “Every Man’s Battle,” by Stephen Arterburn. It will inform you that porn changes the brain, that is why it becomes a compulsion and bypasses our guard and control. The author and his group has a website called, “New Life Live.” Check it out for more articles and resources. They have helped a number of guys I know.

find something you love doing and put your energy towards that, for me working out in the morning keeps my mind focused and sharp throughout the day. l was really selfish thinking l was not hurting her but every time l watched porn l did and l can no longer allow my self to see her hurt from those feelings anymore.
