Hello,
I recently joined this group, hoping to talk to people and get tips and advise to beat my porn addiction.
I have had this addiction for many years but have just realized it now as a problem and admitted to my wife that it was an addiction. Came to this because it took ahold of me and went to a level that almost ripped my marriage and life apart.
I've been working on fighting this for about a year now. I have ups and downs. But finding it hard to resist the urge and temptation to watch it. Only being able to resist a few times.
Would love to hear methods that other people have used and have had success with.

Don't give up, take it one day at a time. I also struggle with the impulses. One of the things that help me is time, just not acting on it long enough for it to go away, the temptation can be very very strong when it comes on but it's Not overwhelmingly long winded, temptation has its it's own attention span, it will fade once you're mindful of your thought patterns and it will help you find a constructive alternative activity. It helps me, I hope it helps you.
Stay strong and if you fall, get back up, don't listen to anything you might tell yourself to justify a binge, I personally deal with every selfdepricating insult I can tell myself when I'm battling my subconscious, it's like it wants me to hate myself so I feed myself more and more porn. That's a nasty downward spiral. I don't recommend going down that path from experience.
But I digress, stay strong, one day at a time and when impulsives srike, hold fast and wait it out, for this too shall pass. Peace brother
