Hello to anyone reading this. I have just joined this support group in hopes to best the porn addiction that has plagued me for 8 years or so. I currently have a baby on the way and I have been in a pattern of lying about progress on battling this addiction and watching porn, being found out and called out, promising to try something different, half-assed trying something different, repeat. I am hopeful in this new endevor and am hopefully learning a valuable lesson that I cannot do this alone. With this in mind, I was wondering if anyone had any tips, advice or stories that they found useful, inspiring, etc. that they would be willing to share in the comments. I look forward to hopefully interacting wtih people and learning with you. Thank you.
I just want to suggest that if you are on any medications that you look at those carefully to see if they could be influencing this addiction in any way. Meds that work on dopamine action in particular can be a HUGE factor for addictive and compulsive behavior so it’s a good place to look first. I have personal experience with that with a few meds I take or have taken.
