I'm just a few days in but I was thinking of getting a calendar and I can mark each day with an X to show I made it through the day. Allows me to watch my progress and be encouraged visually.

There is a website called http://www.reddit.com/r/pornfree/ that you can set up a counter on it. I believe there are called badges. Might help.

I've done the calender thing before; was helpful - theirs printable calender you can get online, I also hung it on my wall.

Anonymous, glad to hear of your progress. Depression was also a major contributing factor to my porn addiction, and learning to recognize the thought processes and behaviors that led to depressive episodes was key to breaking the porn-addiction cycle.

Have you found an effective way to address your depression? I found a book called "Depression Is Contagious" by Michael Yapko to be a helpful start. I found it in a local library -- didn't even have to buy it. It might be worth looking for if you're interested.

Good Going, hope you keep on a roll. recognize what you're doing right and keep it going. I have trouble hitting a barrier at about 10 days or so. I have trouble struggling with depression as well and also with loneliness and frustration. Sometimes I have gone 4 months, or 2months. 1 thing I can tell you though is that it is better to come here or find someone to talk about it with who understands and deal with it then to entertain thoughts of watching porn or acting out and doing anything sexually inappropriate. I've been marking the calander myself its a nice idea yet lately I've been thinking about asking someone to keep a ledger with me becuase of my lack of ability to attain any decent time for the compulsion to die down or not be so severe when it kicks in.
