Hi all, I am new to this support group. I have been a member of the alcoholics support group for awhile and even though I know I have a problem with sexual addiction too I guess it is just a little harder to admit to it.

First let me tell you my story as far as sexual addiction.

When I was young I used to do what any horny teenage boy would and masturbate in any way possible using whatever was available. At that time I would use imagination mostly but had the occasional porn mag and even used to watch channel 99 all blurry but could hear the action... lol

When I was about 21 I got internet for the first time and found my way to the porn sites. This started a daily ritual of spending hours in front of the computer looking at movies, pictures or even live streaming video and masturbating. This went on even when I had a girlfriend.

At age 26 I got married but continued with the same behavior. My wife and I were having a good sex life but instead of stopping the behavior I actually got worse.

I had a minor back injury while playing basketball and so I went to a massage parlor down the street and was soon introduced to the "happy ending." I was hooked. There's no telling how much money I've spent on various massage parlors and escorts. I have slept with more women since I got married than I had prior to marriage.

I have seriously decreased the number of times I have been with escorts in the last year, mostly due to financial constraints but I still continue to masturbate to the images I find on my computer on a daily basis.

I guess the question I have is do any of you know if addictions can be intertwined? I mean can my alcoholism and my sexual addiction be related? I find it very hard to quit either behavior. I have tried and cannot.
