Sexual addiction, also sometimes called sexual compulsion, is a form of psychological addiction to sexual intercourse and other sexual behavior.
I haven't posted or kept up on the topics in this group. I am a porn/sex addict. I guess my reason for not stopping by is that deep down I didn't really want to stop. NOW I do. I want so badly to be free of this. I have been addicted for decades. I'm in a 12-step group and had seven weeks "sober" at the most. Well I've used already today so starting tomorrow I am beginning to work the steps of the program I'm involved with and honestly work a recovery. I am no stranger to 12-step groups as I have many years of drug, alcohol and tobacco sobriety. I am afraid of what the future holds. I know it will be a rough journey, but I am sick of this. I hate how I feel after I use porn and sex. I can only hope to get through the day without using and not think about amassing years of sobriety. I will keep it as simple as possible.

Yea buddy it ain't no big deal, you're seeking help and that's great. Hope the 12 steps are working for you. I was actually forced to go to 12 step programs (I used to abuse alcohol) and ended up "resenting" their whole purpose. Fortunatley I realized one day it just simply wasn't for me, but I hope it is bringing happiness to you.
I will say I've been doing this recovery workshop at RecoveryNation.com and it's been doing alot for me in terms of my pornography addiction. It's painful and makes me look into myself a whole lot, but it's been very beneficial. Today I finished my lesson and felt a freedom I don't think I've ever experience since early childhood.
The cool thing is that I actually look forward to the lessons, I could not once say that about the 12 step programs I have gone to. Again, not to bash AA or other 12 step programs cause they clearly work for some people, but this workshop is unique in how it gets to the core of the problem.
Today I realized that I value sex so much that it basically is ruling my life. A week ago you would have never heard that from me. It's opening my eyes to what my life is and what my life could be and in a way it's (I never use this word!) magical. lol.
Just wanted to share that with you guys.
