I reported my husband for child pornography. He recently gave me his old computer, and while looking for a file I saved for school, I found a LOT of it on the computer. I've always known about his porn addiction, but this just sickens me.
Will anything actually be done about it? I reported it where it said to, but is there more that I can do??
Obviously, I'll be filing for divorce as soon as I can, but is there anyone else I should report this to?
I was willing to overlook the porn addiction since I have better things to do with my life than worry about what he's doing, but this unforgivable!
Should I go to the police? What can I do??

Well, if you didn't report the child pornography to the police, who did you report it to? The Child Protective Services in your state? Your state's Child Abuse Hotline? If you reported it to either of these two agencies, you really don't need to do anything more. By now, these agencies should have contacted your local police department, and they will be contacting you shortly. But if you reported the child pornography to anyone other than one of these two agencies, you really should go ahead and contact your local police department so that they are aware of what your husband has been up to recently.

Thank you for your response, Charli. I reported him on the Center for Missing and Exploited Children website. I googled "How to report child pornography" and everything I kept finding said to report it there. I hope that's enough to get someone to investigate him.
I don't hate my husband, I just hate what he's done.

Just to be on the safe side, I think I'd go ahead and report him to your state's child abuse hotline. If you can't find the phone number for this group, call your local police department. They'll have the phone number for you.

Hi Myminimonk,

I just want to thank you for your courage & determination in doing what is right even though you love your husband rather than sweeping this under the rug. It is so heartwrenching for me to hear of spouses here fully aware that their partner not only views child porn but has molested under age children yet they would rather sweep it under the rug than do what is right...truly horrifying!
