Hi. I've been married for 16 years to a sex addict. Before this, I was married to an alcoholic for 8 years. I'm sensing a pattern, duh! I'm pretty sick of being a 'victim' and have read recently that my behavior may actually be rewarding my husband for his behavior. Does anyone know of any groups or chats out there to help enablers change their behavior so we can stop this cycle?
Also, I'd love to hear from others who have actually been sex addicts and have stopped. Why did you stop and what did you do that helped?
Thanks! I've been a member of the infidelity group but think I need a group more specific to this problem.

I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...

They have been a great help to my wife in the past, and may be able to answer some questions and offer support to you.
I am a recovering sex and porn addict that is 1 year clean after a 28 year addiction. I stopped when my wife finally had enough and gave me an ultimatum: Stop and get hel or leave. So, I stopped through a combination of God and my wife's support. I joined an online group of addicts who helped me understand that I had an addiction and offered me a lot of support and encouragement as I broke free from it.
If I can answer any questions, please let me know.
I think i have definately enabled addictive personalities in the past as well.
I know it's wrong to assume, but i always thought it was because of my own addictive nature? [not to chemicals or substances....just things like work & sex]
