223 days ago I gave up pornogarphy. It was a disease of my soul. It affected my entire life and those I loved most. When I started looking at porn almost 40 years ago, I never imagined it would become obsessive. I have lost much because of it...not just material things. In my recovery I have gained much. I have a sound mind and body. I have an inner peace like never before. Yesterday I had an upsetting experience. 223 days ago I would've gone to my "pill" of pornography to quell my troubles. I didn't even think of giving in to my addiction or acting in any sexual way. 91 days ago I stopped masturbating. This is something I thought I could never do. Since the first time I masturbated at age 13 I thought I would do it the rest of my life. Going without for 91 days has been a Godsend. It has helped me have more intimate feelings for my wife. I am more attracted to her than ever before. I don't have to give into masturbation or porn to feel better. I feel better through much prayer and meditation. I read good books and stay away from the triggers of the internet and tv. I am presently working on correcting my thoughts of lust. This grieves me so. I desire to look upon a woman as beautiful being not as a sex object. I continue to work at this, and the work is hard, but I know that good things will come when I am free of lustful thoughts.
