I just wanted to post this on the discussion boards rather than a Journal post. Tomorrow I am at day 70 of sexual sobriety. No M for 58 days. I have began to resume our sexual relationship with my wife, 3 times in the last 2 weeks. We are taking it slow, so as not to trigger a relapse in my addiction. I think the trust is slowly just beginning to grow once again between us. The reason for my post is not to trumpet my own success, but to begin a discussion among us frequent posters on how we successfully recover. Perhaps this will generate comments or questions from those who are really struggling. Things aren't all sunshine and roses. I still get angry yet from time to time, which is still a point of contention in our relationship. However, it is greatly reduced, not eliminated, but getting better. I still do not masturbate, even despite our renewed sexual relationship. I am currently going through step 4 within the 12 step program, and I do have a sponsor. I am in counselling also. If anyone has any questions or comments about their own experiences about their recovery process, or their struggles, please post them, as these may help someone else. Thank you!
