Hi everybody, great to see everyone on here and the support that like I have said before, is never ending. It always makes my day to come on here and see how people are genuinely taking the time out of their day to support and encourage someone else. This community truly is a blessing and I am glad I found it. Just to give an update for myself, I am now 3 weeks free!!! This means I have been free ever since I joined this community. I am so happy to be saying that and I feel my progress just growing bigger and bigger. The main thing is that I am believing in myself and that really helps and of course everyone on here pushing me to become what I know is the better version of myself. There have been temptations but I have felt like they were different than before as in I always knew and heard the voices of everyone on here, telling me it JUST WAS NOT WORTH IT. I kept thinking about how I could not let anyone down and that keeps me going. I've also found that by not thinking about the issue too much, allows you to enjoy life better and sooner rather than later you've achieved your goals. I have so much more going on in my life for me, that there is no reason to let this bring me down. Always remember, one second of a feeling means nothing compared to a life long feeling of happiness. Keep fighting the good fight!
Congratulations, you have been very successful and continuing on the path it is very important.
While that is great, you also need to keep being self aware, that is key to your recovery
Perhaps instead of thinking of not wanting to let anyone down, you could think about how far you have come and you would not want to go back to that awful life you have left behind.
The reason why I say it is because not wanting to let anyone down is a negative outlook while looking at how far you have come is an empowering thought and we both know addiction thrives on negativity and we cannot let that even get a foothold again if we can avoid it.
You have what it takes to get to where you want to be, keep living that life and before you know it will be second nature.
