iam a sex addict. i came to the realization that once i start acting out ; my body craves for more and more non stop. oncei energe remoreseful and im done, my mind keeps telling me to go back and act out again, which i eventually do as the mental obsession bulid up after life without the addiction become painful without a coping mechanism.
in other words my mind ( mental obsession) and my body ( binge or spree or abnormal physical reaction keeps me craving non stop.
poeple likemy self whatever their addiction are screwed unless they get help.
if the descrption above fits u, let me know. There is a solution.
Nobody is perfect, everyone has something that makes life a problem at times. No one is immune from problems, no one is immune from not being perfect, it's life, no biggie. It will become a problem if you constantly thing the problem is bigger than you though, you're the solution, your problem is just life's way of saying "not so fast, there is still work to be done".
Try to find some humor in the situation too, it's not the first option naturally, but it will help, especially if embarrashment is attached to the situation.
It's really about your own personal views on sex and addiction that will save the day. You've got to find what is ok with you and what is not ok with you, then things can start falling into place and you can eliminate yourself from your "demon".
For myself, it's taking alot of honesty, and also alot of knowing I'm a sexual being and want to be sexual, naturally.
It's the perversion and/or abuse that makes the person feel disgusting or "fucked up", I've found. I see no problem with porn, sex, or even love addiction to a degree, but there comes a point where it no longer is worth the time, mainly because it's not fun that much at times.
You might feel 100% "F'd up", mentally and physically, but it's only temporary and not the real you.
Recently I chose to act out sexually, and I realized I wasn't acting out, I was being a human being as a rationale. So I'm cool with, this is the route I take to find sanity, even though it keeps me wanting more. I should say more "ok" with it, instead of "cool" with it, I can't really say I'm cool with looking at porn as a GF.
The real issue is me wanting to find something that is satisfactory and real, porn or casual sex, for myself isn't what I feel is genuine and/or real. Porn really is just entertainment that is taboo but recognized as sensible by us all in my opinion.
Have you ever considered loving yourself to the point where you just might not find sex unacceptable? The reason I say that is, it's a definite truth you'll have to find if you want solution. For instance I have to know myself and what I like, before I can see if it's really good for me either daily or in the long run. For instance, yea I like the idea and probably come from people who saw polygamy as normal or a way of life, but I can't honestly say I would be alright with a spouse having to share me as a husband. Yea I would feel like the man, but I would also feel like a pussy at times for not being able to stand up for my woman. That's just a little example, but the point is my mind sometimes tells me I need something other than what I really believe and know I not only need but would also want. Alot of people who think they need sex, equally don't want it as well, making the whole experience a major bummer.
That doesn't mean it is or isn't for everyone, it just means that I truly want something more foundational than a sex life rooted in porn or lust. In my most rare moments, I'm a pretty corny guy, but it's safe to say for me as much as I appreciate porn, I know it's not good enough for me as a sexual platform to understanding women or sex more.
I see alot of people hate porn and/or casual sex, then hate themselves, then want to go the complete purity route (understandably), then go back to where they began and live years of not knowing why or what they do. The sad part is people really want change, but don't want to wait for the process to take place, so you're not "fucked up", you're just growing and understanding how difficult life can be at times.
If you a young woman, you've really got to love yourself more than anything else in times of hardship. That doesn't mean you still can't care about others and regard them in your life, but you've got the power to create your own happiness, even if you need a little help on the way to the goal or purpose.
The main thing is to not worry, sex and addiction aren't going anywhere, it's a universal issue that affects everyone, some just cry out for help while others wait for it to be solved without asking. You're lucky, you want answers and you want to have a better life than what you think you have, it will be alright.
I hope this made sense, I've got to go.
Wish you luck.
Peace.
Very few addicts can stop on their own. Everyone needs help. You should immediately go to a 12-step meeting or track down another successful program. I'm partial to the cognitive behavior programs that have offer continuing support. Get the help you need and you'll immediately start feeling more like a real person.
