Sexual addiction, also sometimes called sexual compulsion, is a form of psychological addiction to sexual intercourse and other sexual behavior.
When I was actively using I betrayed my wife's trust. I admit I was untrustworthy and vile. From what I've learned about trust over the years is that it is essential to any relationship. It is something that is earned. Once that trust is broken, it is harder to get back. My recovery is all about regaining my wife's trust. I do not desire it. I went outside the bonds of our marriage and committed horrible acts. My wife trusts me now. I no longer give her a reason to not trust me. I am open and completely honest in all my doings. I honor, respect, care and love for her with all my heart, mind and soul. Have enough courage to trust love one more time and always one more time."-Maya Angelou. This is what my wife has given me. One more time. I will not do anything to betray her again. Trust is gained by not doing the things that will break that trust.
I am also more trusted now, and am so glad people can relax around me now.
I actually have big trust issues myself, and those stem more from my childhood experiences than recent ones. I just can't trust people, even myself. I could say I do trust people to eventually disappoint me, let me down, and fail,,, even if it's not intentional. I can Love people I don't trust though.. work for their best well-being. I can do what I call take calculated risks. There is a certain amount of risk in anything in life.
Anyway, I guess the kind of trust that you have from your wife now is that you really are sincerely doing the best you can, and from things you have said, you are showing it in concrete ways too, being romantic, being emotionally present, being involved in the marriage, being constructive and holding your end up. Nobody is perfect.
