Today was my 100th day of sobriety in recovery for my addiction. While 90 days was a milestone and I received a green chip in my SAA meeting, there seems to be more meaning to surpassing 100 days. It was not always easy but working through my recovery program has given me so much strength and you start to realize that your mind calms down and things that used to be triggers are no longer such a big deal. I enjoy the interaction on here with so many dedicated people and it is motivating. I hope my journey can be of help to others. Whether you are 1 day or 1,000 days in, we all strive for the same goal, a healthier life that we actually have some control over. The other day I saw a post about reaching our milestones. While it is a milestone in our recovery, it is more about celebrating our achievements in creating a better life for ourselves. It is a celebration about moving forward. Today I celebrate being another day closer to being the person I want to be. Thank you all for your support.

congrats 100 days is great,

my husband is now 16 months sober, but he doesn't even keep track anymore. After he hit the 1 year mark, he decided not to keep track really, just this is his new way of life. Its no longer about counting the days, because he is just a new man, like you said the man he always wanted and knew he could be.

Very inspiring from both of you. I am not sure what day I am on, but am making a lot of progress and have the mind set that going back is not an option. I have had some moments when I feel weak,but they pass and the time of struggle is beginning to last less and less. Anyways, congratulations and a year will not be long for you.

Congratulations. I am happy for you! You are on a good path towards a better life. Like candycin's husband I no longer count days. Recovery is my focus now. The addiction is lost and forsaken, so I now live my recovery and not be overly concerned about how many days I have accumulated. I still take my life one day at a time and keep it simple and on guard for past thoughts and behaviors that creep in that have lead to acting out. Recovery form is about change. One way that I do it is by changing every part of my bring, body, mind and soul. Kudos to you for working hard on overcoming addiction. Keep up the steady and diligent work it takes to complete a total makeover, then maintain what you've done by always striving to better.

Congratulations on reaching triple digits!

I like your insight about moving closer to the person we want to be. It is empowering as we realize that it isn't just about saying no to our addictions, but saying "yes" to a world of freedom and possibility.

At disclosure, one of the stickers/magnets I gave my husband says "Don't count each day; make each day count."

Having said that, he's counting months now. ..
