I am still here, still with my fiancé, and still check this site twice a day to read the struggles of others. I still am an active member of S-Anon and my relationship with my incarcerated fiancé is healthier and more intimate than ever. He has 8 years fixed and 20 years indeterminate left. I pray God will continue to strengthen and guide us as individuals and as a couple. I am very blessed. There is hope! Purrs!
I still kinda new to this group and in the uk do a lot of the legalities are difficult here and I don’t understand what 8 years fixed and 20 indeterminate means?

Thanks for emailing! Some of my immediate family are supportive, some are not. My oldest brother is a lawyer who looked up the details of the offense. He emailed me a letter that he thought I should end the relationship. I did - with my brother.
Very few of my coworkers know my fiancé is in and they don’t know his crime. I have a few close friends who know and trust my choices.
My fiancé has to do the next 8 years (fixed), will go before the parole board, and will either serve the next 20 years on parole or more time in prison. All legal systems are confusing. It is a steep learning curve.
