Sex Offenders Wife Community Group
A place where wives, ex-wives, and girlfriends of sex offenders can share with each other.
Hi, I'm currently engaged to a man who has been one of the best men I've ever encountered. Except for his record. I have experienced his family and heard his heart and whole story. I've read court documents and news articles. But I know in the depths of my being that the man who he once was is dead. I need someone to talk to that understands. I have people who support him for who he is today. I have people who are wary, but trust me so in turn give him a chance. I have my own brother who refuses to even talk to me because I associate with him, which keeps my neices and nephew from me too. I have others who won't even attempt to give him a chance or hear any bit of his story. And then a lot of people who don't even know, people who would be shocked if they found out. I don't like the idea of focusing on this hierarchy of offense, as though it helps, because it doesn't... He didn't touch a minor... But his addictions and brokenness led to alcoholism and pornography and recordings and it was publicized because he was a teacher and the repercussions are as though he is some evil, vile, disgusting man... But that's not who he is... And my heart breaks for him every time I hear anyone misunderstand him... And here I go... Walking into the fire with him... Risking a lot... And my head is foggy... And I need someone... Who will just talk to me... So I found this place... And I am praying for a friend... I feel... Scared, frustrated, confused, unsure, lost, mad at the world... Yet also... Loved and valued, blessed, taken care of, respected, and in love... I am both excited to marry him and scared... So... If anyone understands this tangent and has time to talk, please message me somehow.
