So my husband was convicted for a sexual assault on a minor child and indecency by exposure of a minor child he was drinking and at a party when a girl started hitting on him and told him that she was 20 and she wasn't he received 17 years in prison due to the fact that he had a assault felony from when he was 19 and got in a fist fight. He's been locked up for 2 years now and yesterday my ex-boyfriend who I have two children with told me he doesn't want my husband to write or talk to our kids again. I told him that was not going to happen because I'm married and me and my husband have a son together I was just wondering if my ex can make the letters and cards stop and if my husband would have a chance to parole out to me?
Best bet is going to be ask a lawyer. Don't ask a parole officer they always try to intimidate and scare you. Laws are different from state to state. My husband and I can't live together until my kids hit 18 and we abide all the rules. Could be your ex is being an ads just to be an ass too. Contact an attorney and explain the situation they can offer you free legal counsel and depending on what they say that may put a ball in your court or at least give you piece of mind. Also research everything. Most states have a PDF you can download that has every law pertaining to SO's and what they have to follow. Don't get overwhelmed. Remember the law is full of loopholes and protection for yourself and your husband because yes he still has rights. Stay strong babe! It'll get worse before it gets better but you will be a brighter star. And stand up for your kids.
