I am married to a sex offender in Massachusetts, we have been together for 11 years. He was convicted of A&B on a teenage girl, 17 years ago - he got 4 years in prison and 10 years probation, he has not reoffended since his release and has endeavored to turn his life around, he is no longer on probation, he got married, got a job and we have been renting a room in a multi-room apartments, that is where our problem lies. Our landlord is moving a same sex female couple into one of the rooms - one of them is 18, the other is 19, (we are both 51) apparently we have no choice in the matter, our landlord is doing this to antagonize us. We are fated to walk on eggshells now afraid that one of them might make an allegations against him for whatever reason. What, if anything can we do to stop them from moving in - our landlord sprang this on us yesterday and they are due to move in today so we need advice quickly - we did have a year-long lease but it expired in June so we are now tenants at will. If anyone can help us I would be extremely grateful.
Hi there, I can relate on how hard it is to find a place to live. I don't think you should worry about these young girls. I know it is easier said than done but it is either that or you having to find a new place to live. Here in Florida we would not even be able to in any apartments period. Legally there is nothing you can do but just be cordial to them and live your life peacefully.
