A place where wives, ex-wives, and girlfriends of sex offenders can share with each other.
Hi I'm new and just looking for support and no judgment. My story is very long and disturbing. Guess where I could start is my own childhood. I grew up in a family of many types of abuse. I was abused badly as a child including sexual abuse I was fearful and never told anyone about it. I felt like it was normal. 16 years old and got pregnant married my 21 year old boyfriend spent 10 years of my life with him. He was a sex offender he was incest and molested a number of family members including my own sisters and subjected our oldest daughter to child porn. I turned him in he went to jail afterwards he received great treatment and transformed. He had empathy for his victims and showed true remorse. I was angry and didn't want the relationship he begged for forgiveness that I didn't have to give him. He wanted to repair the relationship and wanted us to be a healthy family. I said no and the answer was always no he later died from cancer. His family and my own were angry with me they couldn't understand why I refused to stand by him on his death bed.. After he died I thought that maybe he did deserve a second chance? Who was I to judge when that's gods place? After a few years of being alone I met my current husband he was nice caring and friendly always had an upbeat personality truly was my best friend and made me happy. I was a happier self with him in my life. We went through some crazy up and downs any marriage does, but I never second guessed his love for me or my children. He joined the army a few years ago which I was so proud of him. I was so proud of this life journey we had. Until that day.. I came home from work and my 6 year old daughter seemed annoyed she was mad at my husband. I took her on a car ride to find out why. The pit of my stomach new something was wrong but I was not prepared for what she was about to tell me. She explained in vivid detail that my current husband was sexually abusing her and it also happened one time with my youngest child. I couldn't believe this was my life and my children's life. I was hoping it was just a misunderstanding. I called the military police immediately and they took him into custody. Later that night I found out the accusations were true he had admitted everything.. The emotions were horrible nothing I could compare to this nightmare. He was sentenced 18 years in military prison. My children and I have been in counseling since and slowly getting better. It's been a hell of a road. I've started the process of divorce and since then he has reached out to me he has written very detailed apology letters and is in sex offender treatment. His therapist has said he is having success and is showing remorse for his family. I loved my husband very much and just feel so torn. I love my children more but I hate to give up on another human that is asking for a second chance at life. He wants the family and I just don't know how to feel about that. He's willing to do anything to make it right. But is there a chance to actually make it right? He took away my daughters innocence she will never get that back and forever remember what he did to her.. I just don't know this is very sad. Any advice would be great! Thank you
