I have been dating a sex offender for about 6 yrs now. They had a hard time finding a job so i let them work with me on mine, i deliver to different places, one of the places i deliver to is a nursing home, im in there late at night when its pretty empty, only the front desk person working. Anyway while there for over a year he started having an affair with this front desk gal, she was married so they kept it mostly there, it was creepy that i walked by the rooms they were in having sex and never knew. He says its over now, but i found her panties in our new home, andi can hear a phone that hes hiding, again creepy. As a registered sex offender hes not suppose to have a phone the law doesnt know about is he? I cant find it no matter how hard i try, he says im crazy, hearing things, but i know what im hearing. This person in my opinion is lucky to have even found someone to be with, why would he throw it all away. He was raised rich, me not so much, i have a blue collar job, and when i found out about the affair was kicked out of this place, she didnt want to admit she knew him so she claimed i was harrassing her and took me to court for it! It was dropped because of evidence, but he still would not stand behind me in court. I know all this must make me seem stupid, but i had put so much into this relationship before i found out that now i feel like i got shawshanked! My christian belief is treat everyone the same, we all have a past and have made mistakes but what now? He says it happened because he was insecure? I just feel isolated, no friends because hes a sex offender and i feel like this girl, who is married, got away with destroying my reputation, and took that part of my income away, shes a very wealthy woman by the way. Just want an opinion, maybe a new friend?
Hi. I am so sorry. I totally understand. Your boyfriend should not have cheated on you. You were kind and took care of him and he totally didn't appreciate you. The question now (with other circumstances aside) is do you care enough about him to keep him? If your heart says yes, then work it out and no one can blame you for following your heart. Im sure you feel betrayed and ashamed. If you cannot forgive him, that is also understandable. SO's give us alot to deal with, we should not have to deal with distrust in the relationship too. :) Hold you head up high. :)
I am so sorry. I am married to a SO also. I love this man with all my heart. He is now in prison for failing to register he got 1 Year. This is so hard. My heart hurts for him. He is a good person he did his time but they just keep after him. It's so sad.
I am so sorry for your situation. No one has the answer on how to lead your life or what to do except you. It is true people have pasts that are sometimes not the best but if your boyfriend truly is interested in turning his life around, he would have made better choices. People who make bad choices are only thinking of themselves and now how it influences other people, namely you. If you would like to talk more you can friend me and we can talk privately and maybe I can give you more direction for the what the next best step is for you.
