Hello, my question is does anybody know what the parole officer looks for when they go visit where the inmate wants to parole to??? Please help, my husband's release date is coming up and I want my address to be approved

Ok first off check the so register there should be some information on it there.
When i went through it it was them checking if we where near any schools, if we had kids or if kids came here, if i knew his charges and victims i also asked what he has to do for parole.
When they do come to look at your place be ready for them to walk around the house and ask them questions but do not say he didn't do it, thats in the past or down play it in any way. One of the things they look for is if he has good support! I was asked what would i do if he reoffend so be ready for questions like that!

And what would be the proper response to the question about reoffending? I'd go nuts if he reoffended....really.

Thats pretty much what i said to them. Told his po she would get a call and i would be dropping him off at the police station! She liked that response.

As for the location of your home you can always call the local police dept and ask them if the property is ok for a rso to live. They can look it up and tell you.
In Illinois, where I live also. it says that you can not be within 500 ft of a school, park or public daycare. And they mean 500 ft. We recently had to move because we were 4 ft to close to a daycare.
