Sex Offender in My Life Community Group
This is a NONJUDGEMENTAL group for people who have a registered sex offender in their life. Whether you support this person, are angry, hurt, scared or have accepted the situation, we are here for you. This group is for the day to day trials and tribulations of living with a RSO in their family or having one as a friend. FORGIVENESS DOES NOT MEAN FORGETTING!
He has to register ever 90 days.
Some apartment complexes won't rent to RSOs. But we haven't had a problem buying.
The biggest problem we have is employers shy away from RSOs. It's very had to find work.
And w kids (regardless of the alleged victims age) children services is likely to keep a close eye on the family.
In our state every time my husband has to register, it's published in the paper and online. So we often get threats of violence against him. None have ever been attempted though. We've been ask to leave churches and our kids have been kicked out of schools BC of his registration.
Sorry I wish I could tell you that it's easier. It's not. But it's not impossible either.
The hard days are the ones that stick out, but in reality the good days DO out number the bad.
You CAN get through this!!
conviction for a false accusation. It really is crazy how people can just say what ever w/o any proof at all, post it to social media. And ruin someone else's life .
I think, with internet ease, and children actively putting their own pictures online for attention, we are going to see more and more sex offenses and offenders.
Statistics show only the civilly committed continue to re-offend while all others do not typically, below 4%, and as the prosecution is prosecuting younger and younger folks...the bubble is about to break. I read an article recently about a 6 year old boy going to his 4th sexual predator treatment program for his most recent offense of kissing a classmate on the hand. All this in a world where strip clubs and explicit sex is on tv!
I am praying to God and I believe the persecution will stop. Sex offenders are folks who made a bad mistake, but are capable of learning and living better lives for God. I pray our leaders see this too!
