Anyone who wants to talk about how they are feeling in regards to getting separated and those who are divorced
Hi, I am new here and just filed divorce papers last Friday with a PFA against my soon to be ex-husband. We only been married less than 2 years and we found out he is bipolar about a year ago.
They changed his meds two months ago, the last 6 weeks has been hell. After I kicked him out over a week ago and had time to think, I realized his meds weren't working that he is in one of his cycles.
The last two years I have dealed with domestic violence and him going through one employer after another one. One aspect of bipolar is sexual activity, there has been signs he hasn't been faithful. He has left 5 times and I let him returned, not because I loved him.
The last 6 weeks was hard, I tried to tell him we have problems he wouldn't listen. Towards the end we fought, he quit a job, took a job and lost the job in 2 days.
I'm very proud of myself, yes I am lonely!! I have no friends left because I chose to stay with this man and alienated them. Saying that, I took the steps and filed for divorce. I filed the PFA, judge issued a tempory order due to his history. I live in small town, the sheriff wants to keep him away from us.
I also put myself into counseling to understand why I allowed a marriage like this. Baby Steps!!!!
I went through similar situation of divorce because of abuse... you didn’t allow him to do this to you, I think you were just exploring ways and doing everything you could to try to fix problem like I did! It’s rough situation, and I also feel myself lonely I only have maybe like two good friends I could talk to about what happened... other people I don’t feel comfortable enough to talk to, and I’m also feeling withdrawal from people and hesitant to meet people from this recent incident worse than before the abusive marriage... I had abusive childhood so in general would stay away from people my whole life out of fear I realize now... I’m trying to change that n I hope you find peace soon from this nightmare!
