Don't forget: beating yourself up constantly.
P.S. I am here mostly for my girl friend. Yesterday, after 4 years together and 4 days of holding it in, I told her that she was the most self-sabotaging person that I have ever met. You sound almost healthy by comparison.
I am no stranger to self-sabotage. I smoked too much pot all through college and for a few years after. After the threat of randomized testing, I switched to alcohol for several years. I married two women (sequentially, at least) for all the wrong reasons, and got badly burned by both of them. I burned out of my first career by trying to be something I wasn't. I somehow made it almost to retirement age with nothing left to live on, and not much to live for, but I have turned my thinking around.
If I eventually become homeless, I have promised myself to think of it as the perpetual camping adventure.
