I am still here folks. I have not self harms in almost a year now. I was so tempted so many times though but I was talked out of it by a friend many times and by a therapist to. I still think of it alot to epsecially when I get depressed and down and alone. I have been thinking of it alot lately, I dont know why but I have been. I have been trying to keep my mind occupied with other things what ever it may be. I use music as my escape goat. I get into the music and then I forget about the self harm alot of the time. I am not saying it disappears but it helps with the temptation though. Anyway just thought I would drop in and say hi to you all. Have a good day now... Trying to stay positve as I can.

I AM SO INCREDIBLY PROUD OF YOU!! YOU SOUND LIKE A DIFFERENT PERSON ENTIRELY COMPARED TO MANY MONTHS AGO! YOU GO GIRL!!! Why don't you give us links for the songs that really encourage your heart. I am doing better on self-harm but cut myself just yesterday. I do it so I won't lash out at others and I hadn't done that in quite a while. The cuts drew blood but were mere scratches compared to the times long ago. Once I made a cut that opened about an inch and a half and bleed for a long, long time. Had to go to Mexico to get antibiotics and didn't go to the hospital to get stiches because I was applying for SSDI and couldn't afford for them to find the drugs in my bloodstream. Wow. Bad days indeed. That apartment in El Paso had blood everywhere--all of it mine from cuts.
Anyway, you have come a really LONG WAY baby!!!

Oh my goodness a whole year!? that is AMAZING! seriously... i hope you are proud of yourself for this! It is a constant battle because it is a way we have trained our brains to cope. I too self harm. the best thing you can do is find things or people you can turn to when you want to self harm. I haven't self harmed in a month or so and I am trying my best to beat the temptation. For me, I knit or sing to some music. I used to take a walk but i have an injury that prevents me from doing that. If you ever need an extra distraction we are here for you! Find things that keep your hands busy and remind yourself you're worth it. I think you're doing an amazing job already... i am inspired by you! Maybe i too can be strong and beat the temptation.

thanks guys :) I am trying realy hard. I do find myself going do that wrong path at times but some how I get back on the right path again. I do have my little hicups in the road so to speak. If I can inspire or help anyone I am glad to. If I can sugest anything to help you and I can please ask and I will see if I can help ok. I like to help others to as myself to. Sometimes when I help others it helps me. SO thank you Steve and BerBerBear for your kind words. You keep up the good work also ok. You guys are doing great to :) keep your head up high and keep on walking that yellow brick road ok guys . Have a great day now :)

You inspire me for sure!

I find helping others also helps me. it makes me feel... useful and i just love helping!

To acknowledge you hit bumps but keep going... just shows your strength! You're a warrior darlin' a warrior!

I am still trying to find peace with my si and try to not judge myself too harshly (it all ends up with me spiraling back to it so i'm trying to break the cycle) How have you begun the walk towards healing? I'm still so proud of you... a year!!
