My self esteem issues have really waned and I've been feeling good but I just had a bad night tonight and really needed support. I took one of those dumb "show us a picture of yourself and using math and ratios we'll determine who attractive you are" quizzes, knowing full well that my feeling would get hurt. I think I'm pretty but I know my face isn't the most symmetrical. It almost felt like I wanted to be called ugly because it feels like people are lying to me sometimes when they tell me I'm pretty. I just want to be able to end this toxic behavior toward myself. I thought that was all over but tonight was tough for that and I hope this doesn't happen again. I know it's not the biggest issue in the world but I just needed to let someone know to get me off my mind.
Learning to love yourself is one of the hardest things to do. But it's something you should never give up on. I have the same problem. I have such a hard time looking at myself in the mirror sometimes, or even taking pictures to where it'll actually bring me to tears. But not every day is like that. What helps me is repeating what my friends tell me, to myself. Whether I believe it or not. I am pretty. I am strong. I am worth it. I am enough. It doesn't immediately solve my problem, but it helps and hopefully one day I'll actually be able to believe it. You are beautiful. One day, you will be able to see it too.
