Scleroderma Support Group
Scleroderma is a rare, chronic disease characterized by excessive deposits of collagen. Scleroderma affects the skin, and in more serious cases it can affect the blood vessels and internal organs. The most evident symptom is the hardening of the skin and associated scarring.
I would ask "What autoantibodies do I have for Scleroderma?" Once you know the autoantibodies, then that gives the disease pathology. Disease pathology is the path that the disease will take in the body. Your autoantibodies will point to the type of Scleroderma.
The website Sclero.org would be a helpful place to learn more about the disease and types of Scleroderma.
I have dermatomyositis, and Crest Scleroderma. As a result of the Crest Scleroderma, I have pulmonary hypertension, liver disease and chronic kidney disease. I am on the prayer list at my church. I have a strong relationship with The Lord too. I have confidence that my relationship with The Lord makes a big positive difference in my health.
My church is www.rbthieme.org and www.berachah.org If you go to these sites, you can hear sample lessons on CD. The church also has excellent books all free of charge. The DVD's and CDs are also free of charge. God's Word should be free to all who are interested, and this reflects God's grace. Grace means God does all the work. I have found that having a strong spiritual life with Jesus Christ is the best way for me to deal with difficult disease.
We are all on borrowed time. Do your best to make the most of your time here. Good Luck!
