Strayed, you mean with the episodes in the late 90's. I didn't get into the franchise until Phantom Menace. When it all began, I was too young to care. I guess all our star wars toys from the eighties and beyond are worth more.
Oh, understood. Showing my age now, but I was in the cinema in June of 1977 when Star Wars hit. I had never seen anything like it! Actually, no one had seen anything like it. I wound up going to the cinema 10 more times to see it.
And I so wish I had my SW toys from back then. Not just for the monetary value, but sentimental value as well. Although, I still have the soundtrack that was released on vinyl, double album. Bought it in June of '77, and have kept it ever since!
You and me both. The vinyl, the first time I ever saw star wars was listening on vinyl. There were many of us so we didn't go to movies, and we shut off all the lights and listened to return of the jedi movie. So the first time I saw a Star Wars was in my head.
I hear many theaters are sold out already. I will probably be waiting weeks to see it.
It's amazing this movie is like trying to get tickets to a concert or something. Not sure if I'll see it in the cinema, I tend to stay away from those places. I might make an exception in this case. But weeks after it opens, like you mentioned.
I've heard the reviews are good. But I'm staying away from reading anything about it. A friend of mine at work got tickets, which he bought 2 weeks in advance or something like that, and paid a lot for them. Not sure when I will see it.
I saw it the weekend it came out. Not a problem getting the ticket I wanted. I wanted to see it on a giant screen but the good screens only had 3d, something I never buy.
I never read anything until after I see it. Many movies I love everyone hated. I have better taste, of course.
Hi jazzkeys, Canada also. I guess that Disney purchase was well worth it.
I finally saw it last week, it was Great !!!!! I went with my nephew. He shouted out somewhere near the beginning " I hate that , when they make it predictable" I laughed, he threw his hands up and everything.
The special effects were fabulous and they stuck to the original formula. Except for the "predictable" parts near the beginning it was a Great movie.
I didn't see it in 3D either Cyn, up to last week you had to.
