Tonight's ep was amazing!

Thank God they got past that whole "Amy and Rory are breaking up" side story though - they belong together! It's funny, I was not a big fan of Amy's for a while, but I now really like Amy and Rory as a couple and I'm going to miss them when they go!

Thought it was odd that they had Jenna-Louise Coleman playing Oswin since she's supposed to be playing the new companion (as of the Christmas ep)...her character did ask the Doctor to remember her, but I don't see how he could go back in her timeline to meet her and have her be his companion without messing up the timeline in which she'd become a Dalek so she'd be there to help him and Amy and Rory out of the asylum. I'm sure Moffat's found some way of tying it together...then again, she wouldn't be the first person to play two completely different characters on Doctor Who either, so who knows.

Loved it though...can't wait for next week - Dinosaurs! On a spaceship!! Awesome.

Just How Pumped are you Dotty Pie??

They had a marathon and I recorded the 5 season, and recorded the new season, but I am pumped to catch up.

You guys all seem to love this show. I see it all the time on BBC, but don't know what's going on with the series. What should a beginner do? Rent first season, or what? I really do want to get into this show.

Can I get it ON DEMAND? I just got that feature, and am still trying to figure out how to use it for free.

tinder, whatever method you do use, the episode you need to start with is called "Rose". It's the first episode of the current run of the series (Doctor Who's been around for decades, but you don't need to go all the way back to the very beginning).

I'm not sure if you can get the series On Demand or if it will allow you to see previous seasons or just the current one if you can get it...but...if On Demand or searching for it online or whatever don't pan out, you can always rely on BBCA. They show reruns frequently (and usually in order). They're not quite back to the beginning again yet, so that option requires some waiting and checking frequently for the first episode reairing...but it's an option anyway.

One thing I wouldn't recommend is starting with the new episodes right away. Next week is the end of the Fall portion of this current season and it won't be back again until the Christmas Special and then whenever they decide to air the remainder of the season next year. So starting in with this coming Saturday's episode would probably not be so good to do.

I love this series, watching BBC way too much, love Barrowman the most, cast wise.

FYI for anyone looking to get into Doctor Who; BBCA's repeats of the show are about to start back at the beginning again. "Rose", the premiere episode from the current series run is due to air again on Monday, November 26th at 10 AM ET on BBCA (check your listings to be sure this is the case where you are, but as far as I can tell, that's the next airing of the episode).

BBCA reairs Doctor Who Monday through Friday at 10 AM ET as of right now so if you start up with the show on the 26th, you should be able to follow chronologically from there by watching the 10 Am broadcasts. Sometimes they will reair episodes out of order at different times of the day though so you may want to just be aware of that if you're planning on setting your dvr for it.

Redex, I love John Barrowman too...I've read that he's really hoping to return as Captain Jack but has yet to be asked back by the show. Till then, he is appearing in a recurring role on Arrow, so at least there's still a way to get a Barrowman fix each week!

So what's everyone's thoughts on Peter Capaldi as the Doctor? I just finished watching The Hour season 2 on Prime, he was great in that. so i have high hopes for him in the role.

I hope he grows on me. I did not like Matt Smith as the eleventh doctor.

I have to say i was not thrilled with Matt Smith either. he wasn't bad exactly, but it was a bit of a letdown after David Tennant. big shoes (or big blue box) to fill, i know!

i also hope the writing gets better. it got a bit lazy, imho.

At least Clara brought a bit more life to it this season.
