Consider the rule "To every rule, there is an exception." It is false. If it were true, then there would necessarily either be another rule that had no exception, in which case the rule is trivially false, or the rule is its own exception. Then we could say, "To every rule, there is an exception, excepting this rule." But then the rule does have an exception, and we are left with a contradiction. It is a variation on the "This sentence is false." paradox.
I will grant that you might be the exception to some rule, perhaps even several rules -- but trust me in this: you are not the exception to every rule.
