Hey all. I'm a writer with schizoaffective. I wanted to start by saying how brave it is that you are here in this group working through this wild journey with our brains. I am hoping to write a book about our experiences. Maybe even find a subject to ghost write about this life of ours. If this sounds interesting reach out to me, i can at least run some ideas by you and meet people with experiences like mine. you are not alone.

I have schizoaffective disorder. I still work but it is extremely hard to while listening to voices talk s*** to me. I feel like I can beat this and return 2 some sense of normality. I'm mainly I'm on here trying to see what types of experiences other people are having. I haven't felt like I've been alone for 5 years now. That includes taking showers when I'm in the bathroom driving my car on a roof working I always feel like I'm being watched I used to hang out with a lot of people and talk probably too much and now I have anxiety about walking out of my front door much less talking to people and making eye contact with them. I take a monthly injection through the VA hospital and antidepressants and mood stabilizers. Sometimes I wonder if the medicine is messing me up worse than the schizoaffective disorder I felt a lot more confidence before I was diagnosed. It wasn't until after I was diagnosed that I lost all my confidence and my desire to socialize with most people that sounds pretty cool that you are thinking about writing a book. I feel like I I am capable one day of helping someone else get through this mental hell. How long have you had it as far as you know do you take antipsychotics? Do you ever feel normal. did you used to feel normal and now you can't get back to the way things used to be? Anyway get back to me if you get a chance cuz I don't really have anybody to get stuff off my chest about I think everybody gets pretty tired of hearing about hearing voices take care
