Training for a half marathon means early mornings, long long runs, and hardly no time for a social life. I have been training for the Shamrock half marathon for 6 months and now its cancelled due to COVID19 since groups of 10 or more are banned and this half marathon brings in thousands from all over the country. I get we need to be safe but running a virtual marathon just isn't the same for me.
There's nothing like race day: Waking up early to eat, dressing in your running gear, preping for the day, waiting in the corrals looking at everyone else's choices of gear and shoes. I'm so disappointed but I haven't missed a race yet. SO I will run a virtual race but it definately won't be as fun.
