Got some new med's to sleep and i feel kinda sycodelic today. Going back to my root's with this one. OK here we go
Lucy in the sky by the Beatles, groovy baby
Lyrics
Picture yourself in a boat on a river
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes
Cellophane flowers of yellow and green
Towering over your head
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes
And she's gone
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds, ah
Follow her down to a bridge by a fountain
Where rocking horse people eat marshmallow pies
Everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers
That grow so incredibly high
Newspaper taxies appear on the shore
Waiting to take you away
Climb in the back with your head in the clouds
And you're gone
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds, ah
Picture yourself on a train in a station
With plasticine porters with looking glass ties
Suddenly someone is there at the turnstile
The girl with kaleidoscope eyes
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds, ah
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds, ah
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Can you digg it man?

Great song. Feel high just reading those lyrics. Thanks for bringing back the timeless piece.

The song is all the better b/c my 2nd son loves it too. It does capture the fancy. It's cool when you take it into the context of the album. The album is one of the 1st that has barely any separation between 1 song to the other. The 1st 2 songs and last 2 songs of the album have no separation. But Lucy comes right on the heels of With a Little Help From my Friends. I love the opening keyboard part. . Like the story behind it. I think it's pretty obvious that Lennon title came from the drug taken, LSD. But then he concocts this long elaborate tale about it coming from Julian coming home from school and having a drawing of Lucy in the sky with diamonds. & then his reaction to hearing about the acronym saying "LSD" with all the songs he ever wrote and seeing if there were any more acronyms found in the title of his song......Yeah, ok John.
