This year,my son asked me what I wanted for Christmas. My list was short.....3 CD's. One, I couldn't download from i-Tunes and the others...well, I wanted to play them in my car and the downloads seem not to las as long as the "real" thing.The Cd's were:
Eminem---Recovery....yes, I think the guy is phenomenal and has a great story to tell
The Bee Gee's Number One's--I know, not to R& R , but, great to sing along to when driving in traffic
and the one that can't be downloaded, although MANY cover bands do his music?
Bob Seger's Greatest Hits--WOW, I had forgotten how much I loved his music. His raspy voice and lyrics that we have all felt are just the best. I play it every time I get in my car. "Roll Me Away"...."We've Got Tonight"...."Turn The Page"..."You'll Accomp"ny Me".......all just amazing. One of my all time favorite singers and cd's.
Some of my son's buddies were with him when he was searching for this music...Bob Seger is not easy to find, for some reason, and they asked him , "Now, who exactly wants this mix of music". He told them, "My mom."..... they all laughed and said most of their mom's listened to "easy listening" stations and music.
So, it's good to be in a group that still can appreciate real rock and roll...and some other stuff thrown in.
I think it will be funny when they find my "Metalica" cd in my stack of tunes.

I have a 20 year old and she thinks my taste in music is weird sometimes,,and i think hers is too at times,,,but like you say Teach your kids to rock on-she does like some heavy metal, and rock n roll that I like.
I like Eminen-think he is talented! He has been there done that,,has lived his music.
Bee Gees- what you say, but have been around and changed styles and still survived! Jive Talkin' to Saturday Night Fever to now,, they are music pros and to be respected I think.
Bob Seger is cool! That old Time Rock and Roll,,Turn The Page is great song.
And many others he did-He was a powerful singer you are right!
and Metallica-cool! How about Megadeth too??!

I wouldn't mind a cd of the Bee Gees, The best of or like you said their #1's. I always like "How Deep is Your Love"
