I have been on methotrexate for 2 months now after 1 1/2 years of trying to ignore my symptoms. My pain started in my calves, unbearable pain which would make me unable to walk, then my hands starting burning and swelling. So the reason I am frusterated is because I went to my Rheumatoid doctor wednesday and he said he was not 100% sure that I have RA and also thought I might have carpal tunnel. Since beginning my treatment my symptoms have gotten worse (takes me a good 1-2 hours to become unstiff in the mornings). I am an emotial wreck, I loose my temper all the time. I know that I am probrobly in denial of having any illness since I have always been very active and now I am either in too much pain or too tired to enjoy regular family outtings. The nausea is the WORST!! My husband is disabled so it is really up to me to 'bring home the bacon'....but am unable physically and emotionally to do so.
I guess I just needed to vent to people who have an understanding of RA and maybe get a little advise??
I totally understand. Being diagnosed with a Chronic disease is not easy. I am feeling the same way. I have been on MTX for 2 weeks now and its tough not being able to do family stuff, as I would like. I guess just like me you have to take it one day at at time, so if you feel good go, if not rest. Hopefully your MTX will start working soon, I know they say 3 months to really feel the results. You will be ahead of me, so let me know when the pain stops.
