I got permission to use the black-and-white hawk art from last month, but the artist doesn't have a large enough file to actually be able to use. So...if I were to design a shirt especially for the retreat, to facilitate airport recognition, what imagery would you like to see incorporated in it?

I definately think we need a t shirt so...hmmm...gosh im terrible about creative things. Ill think about it, and throw out ideas when they come.

I know I won't be there but what about a poem or song lyric on the back of the shirt' that way the hawk can be on the front what ever its size.

yeah i agree with that, a poem or lyric needs to be on the back. mayabe one of the poems from the rar book, like tonya's poem or something?

I still would love the figure from the retreat page on-line...the one with her arms held high...

Heck Matt...you're an artist! Why don't YOU draw a hawk you don't have to have permission to use??? How much MORE spcial could this shirt be than to have YOUR original artwork on it???? We just love you!

oooo, I always like the phoenix image. But I was going to say, is everyone familiar with the story of Courage the stuffed lion? What if you used the lion from the RAR Publishing logo? Everyone coming to the retreat seems to be having to summon some courage to do this...so you show up with your Courage the Lion shirt on and you know you've jumped 1 hurdle!

What about 'Gakina Awiiya' on the front or back, we know what it means and we can choose to tell anyone who asks what it means and why we are all wearing it ...
Have you gotten to the point of knowing what colour shirt you'll use and sizes of them? Price range?

I looked at the thread..and I commented. I will settle for arms down...[picture me, kicking sand with my head down...hehehe]. Someday, my shirt, and my self will have arms raised high, in defiance...in praise...in absolute celebration! But, that may take me another retreat or two. :(

Oh, and like the Velveteen Rabbit, the story Tonya mentioned, I have never read. Kind of sad when you thik about it. But, it sounds like a powerful story.

The Velveteen Rabbit, one of my favorite books as a kid. My daddy read it to me a lot :) That and the giving tree....

Its is powerful :) in a child-bunny-ish kinda way lol
