One thing that gave me pause in the parent one is that the "symptoms" are the same as those that used to be listed in Public Service Announcements for drug abuse. One has to wonder how many parents have added insult to injury by sending their kids through the wringer for drug abuse when the real problem was that they were being abused by a boyfriend?
I am pretty sure though that as a teen if I had known it was possible for a "peer" to rape I might have been spared cause I think I would have understood what my intuition keep trying to tell me.
I am all for showing what can go wrong. Just also want to celebrate what can go right! Beware of the single story - right!
