I have sad news. Just at midnight, my mom made it to my birthday and passed away. I'm about to leave on a trip to see my family. I'll try to drop notes here now and then about how it's going.

I just posted on your journal not knowing about this post. Matt I am so so sorry. What a sad thing to learn on your birthday. You have all been in my prayers this entire time. You will continue to be in them during this time of mourning and celebration as well. Take gentle care of yourselves and we are here for comfort when you get back.
I will be thinking of you all day for the sad times that you guys are experiencing. Even though I never had the honor of meeting your mom, I have no doubt she was a wonderful woman who was very, very proud of you. My prayers to T, and to the boys that they find comfort soon. Please let them know that all of us are thinking and praying for them as well.
