Bad news on LTS hardcover - delayed

Just today, yet another pipe burst in our house. That's the fourth one in six months, and second one in 2 months. Every incident costs $1500, nearly as much as I make in a month. Since insurance will no longer cover this, we have to get our pipes completely re-routed. That's $2200, not including the cost of drywall and ceiling repair afterward. That eliminates my savings toward custom printing. The paperback is not affected by this (because it's backed by a publisher/distributor), but the hardcover was going to be my own out-of-pocket investment. So, unless something changes, I'm out of it for a while.

Needless to say, I'm throwing-stuff-around mad, and very sorry.

I completely understand and there will be a market in place via the paperback and even more demand for hardcover when it arrives, if that is of any consolation. I am sorry that the pipes in your house have decided to go haywire this way! My hugs to you and T.

don't feel bad either! i believe we all said we were too impatient for the hard cover anyway so we would get the paperback right away and then be satiated enough to wait for the hard cover!!! be patient, grasshopper! ;)

Oh wow I would be pissed, too. Sorry you are having to deal with such a frustrating situation. It is always so disappointing when something like that throws a wrench in a big plan. It sounds like at least what was damaged is replaceable, and I certainly hope that is the case. The Special hardcover books will happen. And lucinda makes a good point, perhaps the delay will allow them to come about of their own accord instead of you having to use your savings for it. Insurance is such a racket, what a pain! I am glad though, that you are in a position to be able to take care of this hiccup.... just think, someday you will be able to say, "remember that time when all that craziness happened and it all worked out in the end anyway...." Thinking of you and your family, hopefully this won't be too disruptive for your everyday stuff....

Totally can wait for the hard copy. The anticipation makes it all the better. Please dont be sorry, theres enough shit for you to deal with.

No need to be sorry the paperback copy will be amazing. I wish I lived by you my dad does drywall and house repairs for a living. I hope you guys get everything fixed up!
