Immediately after DDAY - I would have gobbled up any drugs I could to "make it all go away" - I think. Maybe. I dunno. I don't think it would have been a good idea, though.

Sometimes the best way is THROUGH something, not around it.

That said: I sort of wish I had something like this after a particularly traumatic dental surgery and/or after my car accident. Both have lead to a lifetime of anxiety around driving and dental procedures.

My memories are all part of me. I think removing them would change everything. I don't think I want to change me. However ask on a different day and you might geta different answer lol.

My answer would probably be different if I were dealing with military-related PTSD or a violent assault, etc. but as information in relationships, forewarned is forearmed.

When it happened, and I found out that the man I had been married to for almost 10 years was capable of hurting me THAT bad, I did nothing BUT wish there was a way to make me the clueless person I was before. Unfortunately life had other plans for me. I had to go through it. ALL of it!! It changed me in a very deep way, no doubt about it. But it also made me stronger. Remember, "that which does not kill us, makes us stronger!"

I was the CS, so I made the trauma myself and considered suicide when it all came out. That said, I'm mulling over the idea that our failures and heartbreaks can be transformative in a positive way.
