Sounds like a good thing to me. I have also read that a lot of what making bad days better is replacing the painful memories with ones that are positive and good.
My Birth day almost two years ago I made a huge mistake not cheating by any means but that was the first date that my wife went on with her AP so even though it was my fault that she left that night. I do not blame myself for the affair in any aspect, but my birthday is never a good day for me. If only I had done things differently maybe the affair would not of happened.
I think it probably would have anyway, but needless to say my birthday is always real bad for me still.

So I think doing something nice is a good way to retrain your way of thinking or not thinking about the pain on certain days.

Jason, we are in group counseling with a couple whose DDay is their actual wedding anniversary, talk about bad!

My dday was only 4 days before our 29th anniversary in 2011. To say the least, our 29th anniversary was the strangest one we've ever had. We did go on our trip to a bed and breakfast place, which was good in the sense it gave us focused time to discuss all that had happened. But dday has been forever linked with our anniversary. We "celebrate" both at the same time.

Usually, for the dday anniversary part, we are celebrating how far we've come and that we are still happily together. We still usually go to a bed and breakfast for our anniversary if we can afford it. Making new happy memories on that day has helped. I believe doing that is one of the ways I talk about how to deal with triggers in my book and the trigger article on the blog site.
