I haven't had any desire to get away by myself but I really wish my H and I could take a weekend, or a week or a month (maybe a month is a little extreme) to go away without the kids, not have to worry about day to day life and just focus on us.

Haven't wanted to get away by myself, it's too soon after Dday. My H and I have taken to different w/e get aways with each other and that has helped tremendously. Just getting away from work and errands and totally being together without a schedule was wonderful.

I would absolutely love a weekend with the girls poolside/on the beach sipping cocktails in Mexico. Now if only the lottery fairy would take pity on me. LOL

My wife went to ID for a 4 day girls weekend, I asked her to call every night so I could tell her 'I love you'. She did the first night the next I didn't hear from her she said she lost her phone and didn't find it until the next afternoon. When we went to counseling she made it sound like I was wrong for wanting to talk to her while she was gone. A couple months later she went on a two day weekend with a GF, I did not ask her to call and of course she didn't. This year she went to TX for National bowling. before she left she said there would not be much contact. She was gone for almost 2 weeks we spoke maybe 5 times, if I had a question, I would text her, sometimes I would have to send her the text 2-4 times. Then in May she went to State bowling (another 3 days)She said she needed alone time so she could think. How do you have alone time if you are never alone. Then in June she wanted me to go to FL to visit oldest son and wanted me to be gone for at least a month and I was to take youngest son so she could have alone time. Counselor thought she should have had enough alone time from the previous 4 times.

I have fantasies about getting some time away from H to really get my head on straight but not time away from my kids. So I guess I fantasize about the babes and me going on vacation except where do you take a 2 year old and 6 month old on vacation too? And I would need a lotto fairy grandmother as well. LOL

LOL State. I say you still go to a nice beach resort where the 3 of you can enjoy the sun, sand, and sea.

Yes!! Almost went up Hawaii but decided on a little fishing village in Mexico- and my husband is joining. he did offer to let mecho alone somewhere -- and by darn I just might -- but not yet.
And I say it doesn't matter how long it had been....you deserve to heal however you chose!

I have days when I wish I could just stay locked away in my room--resting---away from H, kids, work and all the responsibilities that come a long with them. More than that, I long for a romantic getaway with the H, at some resort. Where we can just be together---just the two of us. That's what I wish for the most :)

Beach- yes. and i did it after my final ultimatum was delivered.

But i wouldn't mind a break for a couple of days, to relax and read without triggers although i'm not sure that is possible.

I think if you told you H as you did for this post, approach it as a stress releif..he should understand and not worry...He may actually take it as a vote of confidence in favor of him in the trust department, that you are trusting him enough to leave him alone for a few days,
