I have not had the procedure, but am going through peri-menopause. Do your research, maybe join one of the other rooms dealing with this on DS. I am towards the end * I hope, and many of the symptoms and physical things continue to change as time marches on, not unlike healing from infidelity. Best of luck to you and chose your doctor carefully, Second opinions are good also.

I saw a really good gyno 3 years ago. I can't take ERT because I got blood clots in my leg after just 4 days on it 3 years ago. I had been going for something like 16 days, so the doctor put me on birth control to stop the bleeding. 4 days later I had blood clots in my right foot, and in my leg. It was terrible, but luckily not deep vein so I didn't have to go into the hospital. To this day I have pain in that spot on my leg and my foot still swells and isn't "normal".

The ablation is really my only option, and you have to have the biopsy first to insure there are no cancerous cells, even though my paps have always been clear.

I never had the ablation because I was about to have a hysterctomy. I was bleeding so bad all the time right before I got pregnant with Savanah. Grapefruit sized clots...every month D&C's then they stopped doing the d&c's and just had you bleed it through (the new way of dealing with it saying it will stop on it's own) well I was majorly anemic. It got so bad I was having the biopsy's all the time. So I scheduled the surgery. I went the dr's office to have the biopsy (first step prior to the hysterectomy) well did a pregnancy test and found out I was pregnant with Savanah at 42. So...needless to say my uterus was not coming out for the next 9 months! That solved all my bleeding problems. That is the reason for my gap in children's ages. I did not think I could get pregnant. I was told I was not producing eggs...well they were wrong! I didn't even know about ablation at that time...I didn't want to deal with that hemorraghing every month. I was hospitalized and missed so much work. I passed out and scared my boys to death all the time. So I wanted it out. And I almost had it out. Now I do not have any problems except for the mood swings, hot flashes, etc...for which I am on Climara pro. This is easy compared to dealing with a cheating husband though

I have an appointment next Wednesday with my gyno. They couldn't get me in any sooner. My trouble has slowed down a bit, but was really bad yesterday. In combination with trouble with DD (21 years old, lives 1200 miles away), life is just too much right now. H is being great though, so I am thankful for that.

I feel just frozen in time right now and hate it.
