I've been on the infidelity group since I found this site shortly after dday 2012 and today is our two year anniversary of dday so I'll post here what I originally posted over there earlier today.....

Happy Anniversary to Me!
Not all anniversaries are good. No matter what the sorrow or pain that makes you dread that certain day on the calendar each and every year the day will still arrive and leave in the way it has every day since the happening occurred. Two years ago today my husband told me that he had just ended affair with one of my best friends. Two years ago today my world turned upside down and yet here we are still fighting the good fight and working our way through the quagmire of dysfunction. There are no cards at Hallmark for “this” type of anniversary and yet there should be. I feel it’s the hardest anniversaries that deserve the most celebration. To reflect on how far you’ve come and also how far you still need to go to hopefully cross that always changing and unreachable finish line. Maybe you’re still together or maybe you aren’t but no matter this anniversary is a milestone like no other. Either way your story has taken you on a journey of strength and resilience like no other and because of that this day, your day, deserves to be recognized. Possibly this day saddens most but in that sadness I choose to find reflection of how far I’ve come in the discovery of myself and all that makes me, me. I am not the same wife, mother, or friend that I was two years ago. I am a different person because of the actions of others and I can only hope that this new world I see through with these often skeptical and unsure eyes have made me a better person as opposed to a bitter one. Today is my two year dday anniversary and today I celebrate me and my strength and perseverance to rise above that which threatened to crush me and harden me for life. Happy Dday Anniversary to me! I’m remarkably still here and I do believe some balloons may be in order!
