Hello everyone. It's been a long time. I haven't been on this board for about 2 years. I used to be misshertouch (but couldn't sign on with that name bc I couldn't remember my password and I've tried several times to have them email it to me but it never comes). Anyhow, I was the CS and got a lot of fantastic support and information on how to rebuild my marriage. Now we 3.5 years past dday and things are wonderful! We are constantly looking to improve our relationship and check in to make sure that each of us is feeling loved and what the other could do to improve that loving feeling. We just had a baby 3 months ago, and things are strained, but we are still conscious of making sure we check in with each other about how we are feeling.

I know how hard it can be to work through some of those really hurtful feelings while they are fresh, but I just wanted everyone to know that there is hope if you both keep trying and keep loving and be and stay respectful to each other.

Hi klucky. Good to hear from you again. We too are a little over 3.5 years, and doing good.

Good to have yet another unicorn sighting to add to our growing list. :)

Aww! Congratulations on the baby! What a wonderful addition to your family.

If you need anything crocheted for that bundle of cuteness, just holler. It's a good distraction these days. (Happy hands = happy heart?)

Really glad to here that you are doing well. It is messages like this that keep me so hope full and make it easier to continue on this hard long path. I will be so happy to be in this place and feel I am well on my way to becoming a unicorn as well.

Why are things strained if everything is going well?

I'm thinking things are strained because they have a new baby. That can cause strain for any couple but especially when its a first child.

The new baby is def a strain as we learn how to be parents. And my SO has started his transition over the last year from female to male (please no comments against his transition) and his being on hormones and basically going thru puberty again makes him anger quickly. So it's been an adjustment all around. But we still communicate and are both active in making sure we are still connected even if annoyed by each other at times with things.

I won't comment against the transition but may I ask if this could cause some strain too? That's a huge decision and aside from hormones, could cause some emotional stress.

Lots of huge changes in a short time. It's great that your both staying ontop of the relationship through everything.

Oh absolutely Pinkpony! it's been a strain. But I have ZERO desire to be stupid again in my marriage. He and I both are working through all the changes. I reached out to the Transgender group on here as well so that I can help him thru his new puberty. I love him so much and we are great other than snippy bc of changes but I see the snippy as just "normal" issues in a marriage even if the issues are anything other than usual. We are still a strong couple and continue to learn about each other and check in to be sure we are showing love in a way the other receives it.

Love the posotive update. Having a cs with the patience and courage to work through rebuilding here on ds is important for both sides. Thank you for sharing.
