Rebuilding Marriage After Infidelity Community Group
A community for those who have been through the heartbreak of infidelity and decided to stay with their partner and try to re-build the relationship.
Our 10th Anniversary last year was painful and miserable. I had a babysitter and plans to go out and the week before my H said he wasnt happy and he wanted a divorce YAY Happy 10th Anniversary baby!!! That day he went out with his friends and I went out with a friend since I already had a babysitter and I didnt want to sit at home. He stayed out all night.
Our 11th Anniversary was this past weekend and he is overseas with the Army for a year but so much has happened since last June and this June. He said he reflected in our marriage and the past 11 yrs and he had good thoughts about us which made me happy, that he wish he was here to celebrate it and take me out.
His attitude has soften in the past 2 months, he seems more at ease when we talk and I feel more at ease I dont feel my heart tightening or like throwing up.
I've been taking care of me and the kids, going out and enjoying the summer. He makes extra $$ when he is deployed and I have been having fun with the kids, I usually don't spent much cause I'm always thinking about saving and it doesnt mean that I'm not saving but I decided to live and laugh more, enjoy the now while thinking about the future.
I have to say that things have improve, they are not 100% and I don't think they will ever be, I still don't trust my H. Today at work (I work at a military installation) we started talking about everything that happens in deployments and their is a lof of infidelity going on, nobody is exempt. Even though things have been good the whole conversation just stir some old emotions and triggers. I can't stop thinking about my H and the OW, what is he doing? what is going on? It's so easy to get caught up in what everybody else is doing and condone by their buddies. I felt my heart tightening again, I dont want to think about it, I just want to keep going but all this thoughts are in my mind. (Sigh.........)
I can't change the fact that he is gone and that OW is with him at location, I have accepted it. I just keep hoping for the best.

Thing is, I'm honestly not threatened by it anymore. I still don't like it (at all!) but at this point there's not anything he can do it about -unless he just up & quits his job. Since he is the breadwinner, that is not going to happen. So I concentrate on the good that has happened this past year. Good for you for doing the same! Happy anniversary!
