Prednisone

Anyone have any particular feelings about reactions when/if the daily Prednisone intake has been decreased? My wife seems to think I have not been doing as well as I had been before my dosage was decreased..........

We should all be so fortunate as to have predisone decreased.
Explain a little why the decrease.

Hello Ginny: The specialist said I have been "responding to treatment" and he has opted to decrease the Prednisone and increase the daily intake of Imuran...... hopefully all will be OK........

Hi there.
I am doing the same. I felt "rough" for about 2 weeks after I decreased 5mg Pred. My whole body gets the shakes, aches and just generally feels tired. I am now on 15mg daily so am pleased. I am reducing to 10mg end of July if all goes well.

I was put on Prednisone last summer in June and was taken off it in August 2008 because it didn't have any positive effect on me. The only thing it did was make me gain weight and make me crabby. For my IPF my Dr has me on oxygen and I'm also on Foradil, Asmanix and Combivent for Emphysema. Breathe Well my Friends, Tom

Thank you Tom....my specialist said I was "responding to treatment" and he would reduce the Prednisone and increase the Imuran. Chatting with my family doctor yesterday during a routine visit, he said....which I knew....that "yes, you would feel better while the Prednisone intake was higher, but the potential long range side effects would be more severe'.
Can't win, I guess.....
